Cherished for Life - Creative life-casting in bronze

Welcome to Cherished For Life

At home, most families will hold in treasured possession some kind of personal photographic records to preserve the past, whether they happen to be in the form of photo albums or perhaps computer-processed digital display. However, nice though it is to have these around, there is another, extra special way to make a moment in time last for ever. It’s compellingly attractive, 3-dimensional and a thing of iconic charm in its own right: a free-standing bronze sculpture created from a life-cast of a family member’s hand or foot.

As a young mother wistfully kneads and caresses the small hand of a precious child, she may well be thinking that this will in time be nothing more than a transitory idyll, a moment destined to be consigned to memory alone. But with life-casting that needn’t be so...

Based in Hemel Hempstead, Alexandra Westcott will visit families throughout her own county as well as those in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire to take life-casts in situ, using only natural and perfectly safe materials. In a subsequent process these will be transformed by Alexandra herself into perfectly finished bronze works of art and personally delivered to each client, so there are no postage or carriage fees to pay, nor any risk of breakage. The entire process demands both technical expertise and artistic flair, qualities that Alexandra has worked hard to achieve and refine. For her work with life-casting is no mere hobby or passing fad; she studied this and other art-related disciplines at the University of Hertfordshire, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Character Creation and Technical Effects.

“I believe that each and every child is a precious gift,” says Alexandra. “Unfortunately, the sheer beauty they display so effortlessly as babies and toddlers doesn’t last forever – they grow up! So what better way to preserve such radiant beauty – in real essence – than by life-casting.”

It’s not just youngsters that Alexandra does, either. Any family member can be done, inter-twined statuettes can be made for husbands and wives (wedding or anniversary), engaged couples, or even complete family montages spanning two or three generations.

Having a bronze cast done by Cherished For Life will cost less than you might think, but the result is priceless. Everything is carried out in the comfort of your own home and can be done on any weekday evening or at weekends to suit the customer’s convenience. So why wait? Tempus fugit!
